Mr Burns is a Mathematics graduate from Strathclyde University. He graduated with Honours in 2003 in Mathematics, Statistics and Management Scienve. After his degree he completed his PGDE at Strathclyde University in Mathematics Teaching.

He joined Lesmahagow High School in 2005 and his specialist subject is Calculus.
